Story and Setting
1. The story unfolds in Suminoe, a coastal town near Tokyo, centered on the lively Mermaid Festival and the family café “Mermaid,” where Takumi Nanashi helps out with childhood friend Mizuka Moriya and mother Isana Nanashi.
2. On festival night, Takumi meets a girl with a mesmerizing voice and rescues her after she falls into the sea; he invites her to dry off, and Shione Katagai stays with them.
3. Soon after, Matsuri Motosuwa transfers to Takumi’s school, and small choices ripple into a shifting daily life, weaving romance, friendship, and self-discovery.
