So near the bar is a map for the swamp witch location. So for those in the back who missed the witch in the woods now have a sign that tells them where the Giantess content is.

There's a unpickupable map of the small forest and talking to the merchant there will give you the hint that some trunks in the forest (The ones covered with vines) takes you to other parts of the map and at the end is a cache-all escape from the dungeon altogether.

Guards now have unique portraits

You can now actually beat Alison for the letter (Arena NYI). after you drain her health bar she immediately unlocks a second phase that's hard but after this battle regardless of outcome she'll start taking the battle seriously and but not initiate the second phase so beating her second phase isn't required first time around. Upon beating her for the first time rematches from here on start off in the phase 2

In phase 2 QTE's are a lot more punishing now lowering defense for regular moves and Attack for seduction (you might as well give up if you get hit with the seduction attack) from what I know debuffs either don't get removed until the battle is over or the time is way too long for it to really matter since battle can be really short. She gets 2 scenes for the failed QTEs in this state. Beating her gets you nothing but dialogue.

About A Place to Call My Own

Embark on a mystical journey in A Place to Call My Own, where Velimir, a young hero, forges a pact with a mischievous cat demon to gain extraordinary strength—and unexpected "beneFEETs." This action-adventure RPG blends dark humor, strategic combat, and feline-inspired powers as Velimir navigates a world of ancient secrets and demonic whims. Your choices shape his destiny: Will he master the demon’s gifts or succumb to their chaotic代价? Explore, battle, and unravel a tale where every step leaves a paw print.

Game World & Setting

Immerse yourself in a hand-painted gothic realm where magic and mischief intertwine, inspired by Slavic folklore and demonic mythology.

1.  Dynamic Environments: Traverse misty forests, crumbling temples, and demon-haunted towns that react to Velimir’s pact. The cat demon’s influence alters landscapes—e.g., paw-print pathways appear only when moonlight filters through trees, unlocking hidden quests.

2.  Living NPC Ecosystem: Characters remember interactions; offending a village elder might trigger sabotage, while gifting fish to the demon boosts "Feline Favor" points, unlocking exclusive dialogue and quest branches.

3.  Day-Night Mechanics: The demon’s power peaks at night, enhancing Velimir’s abilities but attracting stronger foes. Players must strategize around cycles, like sneaking into dungeons at dusk for stealth advantages.

Gameplay Mechanics

The game combines fluid combat, demonic customization, and choice-driven progression with a focus on feline-themed skills.

1.  "BeneFEETs" Ability System: The demon grants powers based on collected "Whisker Tokens." Unlock skills like Paw Swipe (high-damage melee attacks), Silent Prowl (stealth camouflage), and Nine Lives (auto-revive with debuffs), each upgradable via skill trees.

2.  Demon Pact Management: Balance "Devotion" and "Rebellion" meters through choices. High Devotion unlocks healing spells, while high Rebellion reveals destructive chaos magic—but risks the demon seizing control during boss fights.

3.  Exploration Puzzles: Solve environment-based challenges requiring feline abilities—e.g., using Claw Grab to scale walls or Night Vision to decipher hidden runes. Hidden shrines offer "Demon Trials" that reward rare costumes or lore snippets.

Characters & Relationships

Velimir’s journey is shaped by his bond with the cat demon and dynamic NPC alliances.

1.  Velimir’s Evolution: Customize his appearance and moral alignment. Choices like sparing enemies or sacrificing resources alter his demonic traits—e.g., gaining cat ears for enhanced hearing or a tail for balance during platforming.

2.  The Cat Demon’s Personality: A voiced companion with sarcastic humor, the demon offers "advice" that often leads to trouble. Its loyalty fluctuates based on treats gifted (e.g., dreamfish boost affection) and story decisions, affecting combat support.

3.  Faction Alliances: Join groups like the "Forest Guardians" (anti-demon purists) or "Shadow Prowlers" (rogue summoners). Each faction offers unique quests—e.g., helping guardians seal demons unlocks holy gear, while aiding prowlers reveals secret demonic rituals.

Unique Features

A Place to Call My Own stands out with its whimsical yet deep integration of feline themes and moral complexity.

1.  "Pawtential" System: Velimir’s movement evolves with upgrades—wall-running leaves glowing claw marks, and high-level "beneFEETs" enable double jumps off airborne enemies. The demon occasionally hijacks movement for chaotic teleports, forcing adaptive play.

2.  Living Contract Mechanics: The pact is renegotiable via hidden "Inkwell Items." Rewriting terms alters gameplay—e.g., swapping strength for stealth or adding clauses that let the demon temporarily possess NPCs for puzzle solutions.

3.  Cat-Astrophic Events: Random events include "Demonic Zoomies" (temporary speed boost with erratic control) or "Curiosity Kills" (the demon drags Velimir into optional high-risk battles). Succeeding rewards rare items; failing adds humorous debuffs like "Hairball Cough".
