WeChat International

WeChat International, also known simply as WeChat when referring to its international version, is the overseas variant of the popular Chinese social media platform. This application was introduced by Tencent on January 21, 2011, and it quickly expanded its reach beyond China's borders, with an English name given to facilitate its international expansion. By December of 2011, WeChat had already enabled SMS registration support for users in over 100 countries. As it grew, WeChat began to separate its domestic and international operations more distinctly to comply with varying regional privacy policies and data regulations.
