About Olivine Lights

In Writefuck: Olivine Gambit, you’re a fledgling Pokémon trainer lured to Olivine City by its gleaming promises of glory—only to find yourself stranded as shadows encroach on its glittering façade. The Peridot Hotel, once a beacon of luxury, becomes your base of operations when the city’s infamous champion, a rogue trainer named Vega, recruits you to dismantle a syndicate exploiting both Pokémon and people. Navigate a web of alliances, where every gym battle doubles as a tactical move against corruption, and bond with locals—hotel staff, rival prodigies, and Vega herself—who blur the line between mentor and menace. But Olivine’s charm is a trap: will you play the hero, the pawn, or the wild card?

Gameplay

1. Choice-Driven Tactics: Forge your strategy through dialogue and battle prep. Partner with Vega to sabotage syndicate operations or go rogue, using Pokémon contests as cover for covert missions. Your team’s composition affects story unlocks (e.g., a Water-type might eavesdrop on dockside deals).

2. Social Spycraft: Attend glamorous hotel events to gather intel, but balance your reputation—over-flirt with elites, and Vega’s trust crumbles; snub them, and doors slam shut.

3. Ending Matrix: Unlock 9 possible conclusions based on moral alignment (idealist, pragmatist, renegade), relationship depth with key characters, and syndicate takedown methods.

Game Features

1. No-RNG Integrity: Plot-critical battles hinge on preparation and dialogue choices, not random rolls. Losses redirect the story but never halt progress.

2. Layered Affection: Build nuanced bonds through optional hangouts (stargazing with Vega, tutoring hotel staff). Romance arcs exist but aren’t forced—ignore them, and bonds stay platonic.

3. Achievement Archaeology: 50+ hidden accolades track niche feats, like pacifist runs (zero battles) or exposing syndicate moles via environmental clues (e.g., mismatched hotel ledger entries).

Game Tips

1. Grind Gossip, Not Levels: Chatting with NPCs at the hotel bar often reveals syndicate weak points, sparing you brutal boss fights.

2. Vega’s Tells: Her smirk during planning sessions hints at high-risk, high-reward strategies. Trust her instincts for explosive payoffs… or catastrophic blunders.

3. Save Before Sundown: Key decisions trigger at night. Use the “wait” option to explore all daytime interactions before committing.
