About The Cradle Of Nurtured Eggs

Step into a derelict hospital teeming with unspeakable horrors in The Cradle Of Nurtured Eggs, the latest hardcore action-adventure from the acclaimed creator of Shahata. As a survivor armed with makeshift weapons, you’ll navigate procedurally generated mazes, solve environmental puzzles, and confront four distinct nightmare entities—each with unique behaviors and psychological terrors. Currently in early development for Windows (with Android delayed 2–3 weeks), this demo blends tense combat, branching narratives, and unsettling ambiance—but needs your feedback to evolve.

Core Gameplay: Survival Through Strategy & Reflexes

1.  Dynamic Maze Exploration: Each playthrough reshapes the hospital’s corridors, forcing adaptive navigation. Scavenge resources like broken scalpels and morphine vials while managing a stamina meter that affects sprint duration and attack speed. Light mechanics are critical: flickering flashlights attract enemies but reveal hidden paths.

2.  Tactical Combat System: Weapon handling demands precision. Guns suffer recoil and limited ammo (e.g., 6 bullets max), while melee tools like pipes require timed parries to avoid enemy grabs. Success hinges on exploiting enemy weaknesses—lure foes into electrified water or collapse ceilings on pursuing horrors.

3.  Environmental Puzzles: Unlock shortcuts by rerouting power grids or decoding patient records. One puzzle involves aligning X-ray slides to reveal a safe code, while another requires manipulating surgical robots to clear debris—fail, and you trigger alarms that spawn extra enemies.

Enemy Design: Four Faces of Terror

1.  The Stalker (Type-I): A skeletal entity that moves through walls when unobserved. Direct eye contact freezes it temporarily, but blinking or light failure resumes its advance. Its kill animation drags players into ventilation shafts for insta-death sequences.

2.  The Weaver (Type-II): A spider-like abomination that cocoons corpses into explosive traps. Attack its egg sacs to stagger it, but avoid acidic splatter. Unique interaction: if low on health, it retreats and summons smaller drones to harass you.

3.  The Echo (Type-III): A ghostly child emitting sanity-draining whispers. Vulnerable only when singing; players must locate hidden music boxes to mute its aura. Prolonged exposure distorts screen colors and inverts controls.

4.  The Goliath (Type-IV): A hulking fusion of surgical equipment that charges when detecting sprint noise. Environmental tactics only: collapse scaffolds onto it or lure it into incinerators. Its attack patterns adapt to player habits—camping corners triggers a ground slam that breaks floors.

Narrative & Replayability: Choices That Reshape Horror

1.  Multi-Ending Trauma System: Early decisions ripple into divergent conclusions. Save a dying nurse? She later appears as a boss guarding the exit. Prioritize escaping alone? Allies left behind return as corrupted mini-bosses. Three endings confirmed: "Escaped," "Corrupted," and "Ascended" (hidden route).

2.  Memory Fragments: Collect 13 patient journals detailing the hospital’s experiments. Each reveals enemy origins (e.g., The Weaver was a biologist mutated by her own prototypes) and unlocks tools—a journal on sound frequencies grants The Echo’s weakness.

3.  New Game+ "Nightmare" Mode: Beat the demo to unlock enhanced AI: enemies coordinate ambushes, resources halve, and sanity drains permanently darken the screen. Exclusive logs hint at the true villain—a fertility goddess exploiting human suffering.

Current State & Community-Driven Development

1.  Early Build Limitations: The v0.13 demo (800MB) lacks polished animations—expect weapon recoil glitches and texture pop-ins. Gallery/CG modes are inactive, and "easy mode" remains unbalanced.

2.  Optimization Focus: PC runs best on SSD with 16GB RAM; lower-spec rigs may experience frame drops during smoke effects. Controller support is partial—button remapping requires config-file edits.

3.  How to Contribute: Report bugs via the developer’s Discord or Steam forum. Critical fixes prioritized: melee hit detection, save-file corruption issues, and Android touch-control adaptation. Your feedback directly shapes the roadmap—beta testers gain credit in the final release.
