About Threeway Changes

Trapped in a life of cruelty under your stepfamily, a single vial from your enigmatic stepsister shatters your reality. Threeway Changes is a choice-driven narrative game where every decision—kind, vengeful, or cautious—shapes your transformation and the world around you. With three distinct main routes and branching scenarios, your choices will define redemption, rebellion, or revolution.

A Foundation of Pain, Catalyst of Change

The game opens with a raw, intimate portrait of your life: endless chores, silent screams, and the constant shadow of your stepmother’s disdain. Your stepsister, Elara, emerges as a mystery—gentle yet guarded, she slips you a glowing liquid one stormy night. Its effects are immediate: physical strength, sharper instincts, but also a flood of memories you’d buried. This duality—pain and power—fuels every choice you make.

• Emotional Stakes: The story doesn’t shy from darkness. Flashbacks reveal moments of heartbreak (a stolen birthday, a hidden bruise), making your bond with Elara feel fragile yet vital. Her motives? A mix of guilt, shared suffering, and a secret she’s desperate to share.

• The Liquid’s Secret: Is it a gift, a curse, or something more? Early choices (drink it cautiously vs. gulp it down) affect its side effects—temporary invincibility vs. crippling migraines—that ripple through later decisions.

• Stepfamily Dynamics: Your stepmother, Clara, isn’t one-dimensional. Her cruelty masks fear of losing control; your stepbrother, Jaxon, alternates between mockery and rare moments of empathy. Navigating these relationships adds layers to your transformation.

Choices That Split the Story: Three Routes, Infinite Paths

Every major decision—whether to confront Clara, trust Elara, or flee—locks you into one of three core routes, each with unique tones and stakes.

• The Redemption Arc: Choose mercy over vengeance. Forgive your stepfamily, use your newfound strength to protect them, and uncover why Clara’s cruelty began (hint: a past betrayal). This path unlocks tender moments—shared meals, apology letters—but risks Elara’s wrath if she sees you as “weak.”

• The Revenge Path: Burn it all down. Sabotage Clara’s business, expose her secrets, and let your pain fuel a crusade. This route leans into dark, cathartic choices (poison in her tea, framing Jaxon) but isolates you from Elara, who fears your descent.

• The Third Way: Forge your own destiny. Refuse to be defined by the past. Use your strength to leave town, start anew, and leave your stepfamily to their own devices. This neutral path balances kindness and self-preservation but leaves lingering questions—will they hunt you? Will Elara follow?

Immersion Through Detail: Voices, Choices, and Consequences

Threeway Changes thrives on subtlety. Every line of dialogue, every environmental clue, and every choice feels intentional, pulling you deeper into the protagonist’s journey.

• Character Voices: Elara’s dialogue shifts with your trust—hesitant at first, then fierce when you’re in danger. Clara’s tone hardens when you challenge her, but softens in rare moments of vulnerability (a midnight phone call, a hidden photo of a younger you). These nuances make relationships feel real.

• Branching Scenarios: A seemingly minor choice (help a stranger on the street vs. ignore them) can unlock hidden allies or enemies. For example, aiding a homeless teen leads to a subplot about community, which later intersects with your stepfamily’s illegal activities.

• Multiple Endings, No Two Alike: Over 20 endings—ranging from “Broken but Alive” to “Queen of Ashes”—reflect your growth. Replaying reveals new details: a throwaway line in Route 1 becomes critical in Route 3, or Elara’s backstory unfolds differently based on your trust.
