About Asshole

Asshole is a raw, character-driven drama about a man forced to confront his sister’s reckless past when her luxury-fueled debt lands on his doorstep. To save their family from ruin, he assembles a ragtag group of women—from a cash-strapped single mom to a disillusioned ex-colleague—each with their own reasons to take the risk. Together, they navigate underground gigs, moral compromises, and the fragile line between survival and self-respect.

The Sister: A Trail of Broken Promises

1. Lila’s Recklessness: At 27, Lila was the family’s “golden child”—charming, ambitious, and always first in line for the latest trends. But beneath her confident exterior lurked a cycle of overspending: luxury apartments she couldn’t afford, designer bags charged to credit cards, and a habit of borrowing from friends (then ghosting them) when bills came due. Her latest crisis? A $150k debt to a loan shark, with threats of physical harm if unpaid in 90 days.

2. A History of Letting Go: You, the protagonist, have always been the “responsible one”—working a steady accounting job, covering Lila’s past overdrafts, and cleaning up her messes. But this time, the stakes are higher. Her debt isn’t just numbers; it’s a threat to your aging parents’ savings, your own financial stability, and the family’s reputation in their small town. For the first time, you’re furious—yet guilty. Did you enable her by always bailing her out?

3. Her Reluctant Apology: When Lila shows up at your door, tear-streaked and trembling, she admits she’s “scared” and “had no one else.” She swears she’ll “do anything” to help repay the debt—but can you trust her? Her track record of half-truths and empty promises hangs heavy, even as her vulnerability tugs at your heart.

The Crew: Misfits with Motives

1. Mia: The Single Mom in Desperation: Mia, 32, works two minimum-wage jobs to support her 5-year-old daughter. When you recruit her, she’s one missed rent payment away from eviction. She joins for the cash, but it’s clear she’s also starved for respect—something Lila’s flashy lifestyle once represented. Her dry wit and no-nonsense attitude clash with your reserved nature, but her loyalty becomes a wildcard.

2. Zara: The Burned-Out Ex-Colleague: Zara, 30, quit her corporate job six months ago after a toxic boss destroyed her mental health. She’s been surviving on freelance design work, but it’s inconsistent. She agrees to help because “sitting at home scrolling LinkedIn is worse than this,” but her sarcasm masks a fear of failure. Her tech skills prove invaluable for underground deals, but her resentment toward authority could get you both caught.

3. Riya: The Retired Stripper with Secrets: Riya, 45, runs a laundromat by day and still dances at a club by night. She’s the first to admit she “knows the ropes” of making quick cash. Her calm demeanor hides a past marked by poverty and a daughter she rarely sees (she chose the club over college to pay for her kid’s medical bills). She joins not for the money, but for the “thrill of feeling alive again”—a risk that could reawaken old dangers.

Survival: Choices That Blur Right and Wrong

1. Legal vs. Underground Gigs: The first “job” is a high-end event staffing agency—but it’s a front for money laundering. Do you take it (quick cash, low risk) or insist on legitimate work (longer hours, smaller pay)? Each choice affects the crew’s trust: Mia needs stability, Zara craves legitimacy, Riya thrives on chaos.

2. Protecting Lila vs. Holding Her Accountable: When Lila begs you to hide her from the loan shark, you must decide: let her stay (keeping the peace but risking exposure) or kick her out (forcing her to face consequences but protecting the crew). Her actions force you to confront whether forgiveness means excusing harm—or setting boundaries.

3. The Crew’s Loyalty Test: As tensions rise, cracks appear. Mia steals a client’s wallet to cover her daughter’s medical bill; Zara leaks your operation to a rival, hoping for a cut; Riya reconnects with her daughter, who begs her to quit. Do you forgive them (prioritizing family) or cut them loose (protecting the mission)? Their fates become intertwined with yours, making every decision deeply personal.
