Then, a glimmer: a handwritten note slipped under her door, sealed with wax, summoning her to Aethelburg Academy—a prestigious institution she’s never heard of, located in a city three states away. With nothing but a suitcase and a fading photo of her high school, she packs her bags. But the journey is fraught: a delayed train, a missed connection, and finally, a mugging in the city’s seedy underbelly leaves her wallet, phone, and ID stolen. Now, she’s stranded in a place where no one knows her name, and every shadow feels like a threat.
