Guide to "Liyue Millennium" Card Board Game: Strategies and Rules

Apr 28, 2025

"Liyue Millennium," a Genshin Impact-themed board game, combines strategic resource management and competitive trading mechanics, inspired by the bustling commerce of Liyue Harbor. Below is a comprehensive guide to mastering the game, from basic rules to advanced strategies.

1. Movement and Settlement

- Dice Rolling: On your turn, roll a 6-sided die and move your piece clockwise along the map according to the number rolled. Resolve the effect of the tile you land on immediately.

- Tile Effects: Tiles may trigger events like purchasing shops, paying tolls, or initiating auctions. Always prioritize landing on unowned shops for expansion opportunities.

2. Purchasing and Upgrading Shops

- Buying Shops: When landing on an unowned shop tile, pay its base price (determined by color) to claim ownership. Place your marker on the tile and take the corresponding shop card.

  - Tip: Monitor shop colors—prices are uniform within the same color group.

- Upgrading Shops: Landing on your own shop allows free upgrades by adding markers (max 3 levels). Higher-level shops charge more tolls. At level 3, you gain Mora equal to the toll amount instead.

3. Toll Collection and Shop Acquisition

- Toll Mechanics: Opponents landing on your shops must pay tolls based on the shop’s level (1–3 markers). Check the shop card for exact amounts.

- Hostile Takeovers: After paying a toll, you can buy an opponent’s shop:

  - Level 1: Pay the original price.

  - Level 2: Pay double the price.

  - Level 3 shops are immune to takeovers.

4. Auctions and Bankruptcy

- Forced Auctions: If unable to pay debts, auction a shop at half its base price. The highest bidder takes ownership and replaces markers.

- Bankruptcy: Players with insufficient Mora and no shops to auction must forfeit. Return all resources and exit the game.

5. Building the Jade Chamber

- Triggering Construction: Passing the starting tile lets you take a Jade Chamber puzzle piece. The game ends when all pieces are claimed, revealing the completed structure.

- Strategic Note: Control the game’s pace by prioritizing puzzle collection or delaying opponents’ progress.

6. Final Scoring

After the Jade Chamber is built, calculate scores through:

1. Ningguang’s Blessing: Roll dice to discard matching puzzle pieces and gain bonus筹码 (chips).

2. Chip Conversion:

   - Shops: 1 chip per shop. +1 chip per complete set (green, blue, red).

   - Mora: 1 chip per 20 Mora remaining.

   - Markers: 1 chip per 3 markers on the board.

Winning Strategies

- Early Game: Focus on acquiring shops of the same color to monopolize toll rates.

- Mid Game: Upgrade shops to level 3 for passive income and block opponents’ takeovers.

- Late Game: Balance Jade Chamber progress and chip optimization. Prioritize completing shop sets for bonus chips.
